It's Christmas at Sedona Cake Couture!
My 5 year old grand-daughter Breanna was a big help in the kitchen! We had SO MANY cookies to decorate. She is a very talented decorator and tells me that she is going to help me make beautiful cakes when she gets bigger! You see her wearing her Tiara - it's her birthday celebration this weekend!! And the very best part was watching her decorate her very own cakes (with no help from her Grandma! She is truly amazing and one of the special loves of my life!!!

Sedona Library Cake
A stack of books ....or is it a cake! Completely edible down to the embossed white chocolate "covers" , these books were devoured at the annual Sedona Festival of Wreaths held at the Sedona Public Library. Thanks go to my friend and fellow cake competitor on Food Network Challenge - Michelle Bommarito - michellebommarito.com for her help and advice with this cake!

Sedona Wedding of the Year at L'Auberge de Sedona
This is the work of the very talented and very creative boys at eventsbyshowstoppers.com
The details and floral were beyond anything I had every seen before!
The entire ballroom at L'Auberge de Sedona was transformed into a magical mecca of colors, textures, lighting - ambience is too pale a word!
In this photo (all photos courtesy of the famous duo - Katrina + Andrew - who are sedonabride.com) you
can see the incredible color palette that we see in so many of our fabulous Sedona weddings. Notice the Morrocan tray over the fireplace, the shimmery linens, the dancing lights on the walls.
And here's the cake!
With beautiful
designs embossed with antique
Morrocan fabric stamps and hand-painted with shimmering color.
The bride told me later that she was so in love with her cake that she kept putting off the cake cutting as long as she could!

Weddings in Sedona in the Fall
Weddings in Sedona in the Fall are a spectacular sight to see. The beautiful rich jewel tone colors of Sedona are the choice of many brides when designing a cake for a Sedona wedding.
In addition to the flame cala lilies, this bride chose to add sugar feathers to her cake.

Sedona Cake Couture Featured in Inside Weddings Magazine
Sedona Cake Couture is proud to be featured in one of the industry's leading magazines - Inside Weddings insideweddings.com
This was the incredible wedding reception of Marcella Hofelich and Nicholas Chambers at the Silverleaf Club is Scottsdale, Arizona.
Fabulous photography by Jared Platt plattphotography.com
and the amazingly beautiful floral was created by Flora Europa floraeuropa.com
The design of the cake was inspired by the fresh flowers used in the arrangements, the color of the cake came from the bridesmaid's dresses. The room at the Silverleaf Club is old-world European looking- with enormously high ceilings, massive chandeliers and stone walls, reminiscent of an old castle! Congratulations to Marcella and Nick!

Christa and Tommy's Sedona Wedding
This is Andrea with her Assistant Cake Artist - the talented Kelsey Fink, after setting up the cakes in the gazebo next to Oak Creek.
This is a cake! Chocolate, in fact. And delicious as well! It's a replica of Tommy's fire truck with the Surprise, Arizona Fire Department. The wheels are made with chocolate clay (www.sedonachocolateclay.com),
There is a marzipan "nurse" atop the wedding cake - dressed in a sugar nurse's uniform and a sugar fireman on the chocolate wedding cake adorned with pink sugar calas. It was the perfect symbolism of this magical couple. We wish you the best, Tommy and Christa.

Marina's Fabulous Cake
Last weekend I created the most magical wedding cake for Marina de Jong's wedding at Ashley Manor. Marina is a Pastry Chef herself and had definite, over-the-top ideas for her cake when she sought me out. The cake had sugar crystal gemstones, sugar tassels and lots of braid detail. The color palette of black, gold and silver worked incredibly well together. To see this cake set up in that spectacular room at Ashley manor was breathtaking! I had the honor of having a world-class photographer shoot this cake for me - thank you Katrina Wallace of sedonabride.com for coming to my cake studio and creating these beautiful photos in your ninth month of pregnancy! (It's a girl, and we're hoping her name will be Francesca but it looks more like Caroline)!!!!

Wonderland Cake for Sedona Film Festival
I was handed a CD of the movie (not yet released) Phoebe in Wonderland so I could watch it and get inspiration for a cake for the premier of the movie at the Sedona Film Festival. Check it out!
